Why swimmers love it
Every session is designed to feel exciting and encouraging, helping swimmers build real confidence in the water while progressing at their own pace.
Private or semi-private lessons ensure swimmers receive constant feedback, support, and encouragement every step of the way, with parents welcome to stay nearby.
The heated saltwater pool keeps swimmers relaxed, comfortable, and focused — no cold water, no stress — with a bathroom just steps away for convenience.
From learning to swim to advanced levels, swimmers can work toward certifications and even becoming lifeguards one day, while building safety, independence, and skills that last for life.
Why parents love it
Enjoy comfortable shaded seating where you can watch every lesson or get work done while your swimmer is safely in the water. With a calm, private backyard setting, there are no crowded pools — just a clean, quiet environment where your child gets full attention.
Private outdoor change room and bathroom make transitions quick and easy, so there’s no rushing back and forth. Lessons run throughout July and August with flexible scheduling that fits around camps, vacations, and your daily routine.
Ben and Luke bring experience, patience, and high-energy vibes to every lesson.
Lead Instructor
Ben has been a certified National Lifeguard since 2021, with experience teaching swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
He has taught all levels and focuses on building strong water safety skills, confidence, and independence in every swimmer.
Outside the pool, Ben is a business student at Western University and, in the winter, volunteers as an adaptive ski instructor with Track 3 London, giving him experience working with students of all needs in a supportive and structured environment.
Assistant Instructor
Luke is a certified National Lifeguard (since 2024) and has over a year of experience working as a lifeguard and swim instructor at a community center.
He brings a fun, energetic approach to lessons while staying focused on safety, technique, and helping swimmers feel comfortable in the water.
Luke is especially great at working with younger swimmers, turning nerves into confidence through patience, encouragement, and engaging challenges.
How Ben's Swim School started and what makes it different.
Ben’s Swim School is a private backyard swim school based in Oak Ridges, built around calm, personalized lessons in a safe and welcoming environment. What started as a small local initiative has now grown into its third summer, becoming a trusted choice for families looking for high-quality, one-on-one instruction outside of crowded public pools.
Over the past three years, swimmers have progressed from their very first lessons to advanced levels, including Swim to Survive and Lifesaving Society programs such as Bronze Cross. Whether the goal is building confidence, improving technique, or working toward becoming a certified lifeguard, every swimmer is supported at each stage.
Every lesson is tailored to the swimmer — their goals, comfort level, and personality. We combine structured skill development with engaging challenges and games, creating an environment where swimmers stay motivated, build confidence, and make real progress in the water from one lesson to the next.
We communicate closely with parents to understand each swimmer’s needs and build the most effective lesson plan. With a strong focus on safety, technique, and confidence-building, our goal is to help every student become capable, confident, independent in the water, and prepared to keep progressing over time.
